Large Scale Outside Plant Project
Trans-Tel was award a contract to design, engineer, and construct a fiber optic traffic control network using CommScope fiber optic cable. This fiber infrastructure will be used to Control traffic signals within the city of Norman. The fiber optic network connects five different facilities within the city. Trans-Tel was responsible installing 100,000 feet of fiber optic cable using a combination of trenching and horizontal boring. The project provided improved public safety.
- Public Works--Real-time access to current street and utility infrastructure, new construction, and work order status.
- Public Safety--Better able to access and input records data from remote locations ensuring personnel have the most up-to-date information when responding to incidents.
- Bandwidth improvements--Allows City employees to more efficient in their jobs and devote more time to customer service.
- Improved citizen experience accessing City information, business, and video streaming of Council meetings from the Internet.
